A tax return service is not one of Credit Union South’s core products so from Monday, 1 October 2018, Credit Union South will cease to offer a tax return service through

As a result of this NZCU South will be delinking all Taxcheck clients from its IRD Agency listing from in early October.

If you already have a tax return currently being processed through TaxCheck this process will be completed. TaxCheck normal communication lines will remain open for the time being for any questions and/or contact you may require regarding an existing return being processed.

If you require assistance in the completion of a tax return we recommend members go directly to the IRD or to an alternative Tax Refund service.

Inland Revenue notice

The Inland Revenue has notified us that from April 2019, assuming the proposed law change goes through; that the tax refund process for wage or salary earners is changing. This means Inland Revenue will contact you directly in the future and if you are due a refund, this will be paid straight into your bank account from June 2019.

We are providing Inland Revenue with the contact details and bank account we currently have on file for you. Inland Revenue will use this to update your information on your behalf.  If your details are not up-to-date, you will need to update them directly with Inland Revenue. This can be done through your myIR account or by contacting Inland Revenue directly. If you don’t have myIR, visit to sign up.
