Money Week 2017

This week is Money Week 2017!

Money Week 2017

Want to know how Money Week can help you?

What is Money Week?

Money Week is a series of events brought to you by the Commission For Financial Capability. It’s powered by and the focus of these events is on financial capability. They take place throughout New Zealand and act as a yearly opportunity to check in on our money situation, and get Kiwis talking about money.

When is Money Week?

This year Money Week runs from 14 – 20 August.

What is Money Week About?

The focus of this year’s Money Week theme is debt, what it means to you and how you make it work for you.

“Debt is part of life, it’s how we buy cars and houses, we need it to build businesses. But there’s a point where we get too comfortable with being loaded up on debt, we forget the old-fashioned notion of saving up for something, waiting and buying it when we have the money for it.’

These are the words of Diane Maxwell, the Retirement Commissioner who heads up the Commission for Financial Capability. She is championing the exploration of the social norms around debt, and has received input from over a thousand people, who have shared their attitudes and experiences with her.

In the spirit of this exploration, we invite you to participate in a quick quiz. It’ll put you in touch with your money habits, and your name will go into a draw on Monday 21 August 2017 to win $50.

We also invite you to visit and explore the resources and events that are happening during Money Week.

And as always, if you need help getting on top of your debt with a debt consolidation loan, call our award winning contact centre to speak to our friendly staff between Monday and Friday, 8.00am – 6.00pm on 0800 86 56 36. Alternatively you can apply here.
