Electronic Banking – Saving You Time And Money
For those of you who aren’t yet familiar with it, electronic banking is any transaction that you carry out where you use either a mobile device (such as an iPad or a smart phone), or the internet. It’s a banking medium that is becoming increasingly common in our busy lives, and it makes transferring of money between different accounts and paying your bills incredibly convenient.
Electronic banking is so convenient!
Have you ever suddenly remembered late at night that you needed to pay someone? In the old days you would have had to wait for the banks to open the following day (if it was a working day), and may have had to cover some distance to get there. Not any more. With electronic banking you can move your money 24 hours a day, with no need to wait for the bank to open.
Electronic banking saves you money
If you pay your bills ‘the old fashioned way’, you’ll likely need to write a cheque, pop it in an envelope, put a stamp on it and send it in the post. All of these elements cost money, and all are avoidable with online banking. A further consideration is that with internet access you can research online for the lowest price, saving yourself further cash.
Electronic banking is portable
Your credit union or bank will have limited branches and if you live out of the way, or perhaps are away on holiday, there may not be a branch that’s easily accessible. But as long as you have a mobile device, or access to the internet through a desktop computer, you can still manage your money with E-banking.
With E-Banking you know where your money went
We often find that people who didn’t pay much attention to budgeting, do a better job of tracking their expenses when they bank electronically. This is because of spending apps that track where you’ve spent your money, and categorise your purchases, e.g. utilities, groceries, etc. It becomes much easier to record spending and budget accordingly.
